Hi, my name is Cliff Jones.  I live in Angier, NC.  Near Raleigh.  I am 71 years of age.

Cliff and Wife

I was raised on a farm and when I started office work at age 21 as an accountant.  I weighed in at 165 and fairly solid.  After sitting behind a desk for 26  years I ballooned out to around 250.  I changed careers  and did manage to get my weight down to around 200 in 2007.

My first wife died in 2003.  I remarried in 2005 and we both retired in 2007.  I guess between my loving wife’s cooking three meals a day and snacking in the evening I went back up to about 220 and was gaining each month.

At my height of 5’10″, this is way to heavy and coupled with a family history of high blood pressure I knew the clock was ticking and I needed to do something.   I tried dieting and exercise, but nothing seemed to work on a permanent basis.  Oh, I would drop a little weight from time to time. but manage to put it back on.  I tried the Atkins then the South Beach diet to no avail.  I used to lack the self-discipline to stay on a regimen that will get me to at least 180 and stay there… I almost gave up trying.

The clincher was a couple of months ago while visiting with my 5 year old grandson.  He was sitting on my lap and said to me; “Pap Pap you have a big belly.”   That brought back memories of seeing old men with big bellies and thinking, I don’t want to look like that when I am old.  But there I was, at least in my grand child’s eyes.

Then, I met my coach Matt Garrett while doing Hurricane Sandy work in NY and He told me about The Beach Body team and the Fit Center they developed in Raleigh, NC.  Through my Coach Matt, I now have a team of people
